FOC Newsletter, President's Letter,  Winter 2019-20

As the New Year approaches, I want to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt greetings for the season and to acknowledge everyone for all their energy throughout the year. The success of our Friends group is built on the vigor of the Officers and Board, Park staff, volunteers and our Members' support. I am very happy to have you all as part of our team. Thank you!

As you will note, our Membership dues are increasing as of January 1, 2020. Please check the new rates and mail your dues. If you wish to save, please renew prior to December 31st. If your membership expires, upcoming newsletters will be discontinued.

When the New Year arrives, we have many plans to improve the Preserve and new ideas for exciting things to do when you visit. If you are on Facebook, "friend" us and check out our shelled, feathered and furry friends that have been captured on the Environmental Office's trail cam, among other unique and beautiful photographic catches. Our Nicoll Grist Mill has been completely refurbished and is open for tours, as is our historic Hatchery where trout fishing is a year-round proposition. Inside the former South Side Sportsmen's Club, procedures are in place to make history more exciting for visitors, and new lectures and programs are being planned.

We hope you all have a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah and a very healthy and Happy New Year! Hope to see you in 2020!

Sincerely,
Ginny Fields
